Noise is effectively defined as unwanted sound. These days, as traffic numbers continue to grow and building developments move closer together, noise has become a very real issue, and this is reflected in recent legislative moves. In addition, as COSHH requirements get tighter there is real need to undertake a regular noise survey, noise exposure monitoring and COSHH assessment of the workplace in areas where noisy machinery is operating.
